5 Reasons You're Not Seeing Results, And How to Fix Them
You're showing up. You're putting in the hours. So why aren't you seeing the results you came for?
After more than 20 years of training clients across Cape Town, London, New York and beyond, I've seen the same mistakes repeated over and over.
The good news? They're all fixable.
1. You're not training with intention.
Going through the motions isn't training, it's just moving. Every set, every rep should have a purpose. Before you pick up a weight, know why you're picking it up. Intention drives adaptation.
2. You're skipping recovery.
More is not always better. Your body doesn't get stronger during the workout, it gets stronger during the recovery. Sleep, rest days and proper nutrition aren't optional extras. They're part of the program.
3. Your program has no structure
Random workouts get random results. If you're just doing whatever feels good that day, you're leaving progress on the table. A proper program builds on itself week by week. That's how real change happens.
4. You're not eating to support your goals
You can't out train a bad diet. I'm not talking about perfection, I'm talking about alignment. Are you eating in a way that supports what you're trying to achieve? Most people aren't, and they don't even realize it.
5. You're comparing your chapter one to someone else's chapter ten.
This one kills more progress than any bad workout. Your journey is yours. Focus on being better than you were last week, nothing else matters.
Training smarter isn't about working harder. It's about making every session count.
